Purchase of cutting rights

The sale of cutting rights enables the forest owner to earn income without selling the immovable. Selling cutting rights gives you flexibility – you decide when and how much to cut, while still remaining the owner of the immovable.

It is important to whom the cutting rights to standing timber are sold. As an experienced forest manager, we plan cutting operations thoughtfully, taking into account the condition of the forest and the wishes of the immovable’s owner.

We have experience with standing timber in different regions of Estonia. This enables us to provide each immovable owner with solutions tailored to their needs – whether the forest is young, middle-aged or mature.

The sale of cutting rights begins with a review of the existing data. For this purpose, we use Metsaportaal (the national forestry portal) and the Land Board’s map layers. If a forest management plan is missing or has expired, our forest surveyor will help to prepare a new plan. We also contribute to the planning of the cutting scheme and, if necessary, assist with the submission of the forest notice. After calculating an initial price estimate, we carry out fieldwork on the immovable, provide a final price offer and conclude an agreement for the transfer of cutting rights to standing timber.
